Harmony Project Sooke

Position Title: 

Harmony Project Sooke (HPS) is a non-profit society that promotes the positive development of youth and community through music, HPS provides musical instruments and instructions to children and youth in the Sooke area. The students participate in after-school music classes (String and Drumline) and also perform at a variety of community events throughout the year. We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about education and music (but no musical skill is required) to act as a Fundraising Coordinator.

Position Title: 

Beaver Leader will be responsible for:

  • Working with youth ages 5 to 7 years, mainly crafts & games
  • Weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 6.30 pm at Camp Barnard
  • Participation in Beaveree (camp) and Beaver Buggy races
  • Attend monthy group meetings
  • Assist Contact Souters who currently run the Beaver Colony meetings (More adults needed to meet required ratios)

Position Title: 

Secretary will be working with Group Commisioner & rest of group committee to keep all matters running smoothly, using office skills where needed. 

  • To attend monthy group meetings in Sooke (usually 1st Monday of each month excluding July and August)
  • Prepare Agenda in discussion with Group Commisioner and distribute
  • Record Minutes of meeting including decisions made and details of motions.
  • Type up the MInutes within 5 days and distribute it
  • Keep copies of all Minutes in Minute Book

Sooke Meals On Wheels
Dates:

Position Title: 

Sooke Meals on Wheels is a 100% volunteer organization offering a program which provides weekly hot meals Monday, Wednesday and Fridays to any person unable to prepare meals for themselves. Frozen meals are also available on request for any day of the week.

Looking for interested individuals that can help a few hours a month delivering food (driving) and or carrying meals into client homes (assisting) on one of two scheduled routes.

Time commitment:  A little over one hour per shift; at the most, 3 hours per month.
