Sooke ESS, working with Sooke Fire/Rescue, are a local volunteer who trains and works to give back to their community when natural disasters like fires, earthquakes, floods ad other events occur, that cause families to be evacuated from their homes
Emergency Support Services, a provincial emergency response program, provides those services required to preserve the well-being of people affected by an emergency or disaster.
ESS Volunteers are trained to set up reception centres, register evacuees, and provide referrals to local businesses as required.
Sooke Fall Fair has volunteers who assist with a variety of programs. They serve breakfast and lunch at Seedy Saturday in February, July's car show, a market the last Saturday in August and September, and their main event the Sooke Fall Fair the first Saturday after Labor day, as well as the Christmas craft fair in November.
Sooke Meals on Wheels is a 100% volunteer organization offering a program which provides weekly hot meals Monday, Wednesday and Fridays to any person unable to prepare meals for themselves. Frozen meals are also available on request for any day of the week.
Looking for interested individuals that can help a few hours a month delivering food (driving) and or carrying meals into client homes (assisting) on one of two scheduled routes.
Time commitment: A little over one hour per shift; at the most, 3 hours per month.

Time Commitment: 3 hours per shift: 9 a.m. - noon Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays - commitment tailored to your schedule.
Sooke Loan Cupboard requires one or two reliable individuals that can assist Monday mornings between aprox 10:45 - 11:45 with cleaning equipment loaned through their program. Even if you can commit once or twice a month would be great.
