The Government of BC, though the Ministry of Health, provides funding to the United Way of Lower Mainland to manage the Better at Home programs across BC. United Way manages 67 Better at Home program across the province.
Better at Home helps seniors with simple day-to-day tasks, allowing them to maintain their independence and stay connected with their community.
The Sooke Region Better at Home include:
- Friendly visiting
- Light housekeeping
- Hot meals delivery (during the pandemic time)
- Grocery shopping
- Light yard work
- Minor home repairs
This program is for seniors 65+ who live in Sooke region: Sooke, East Sooke, Otten Point, Shirley, Jordan River
Seniors who receive Better at Home services will pay a fee based on their income. Some services may be free.
