Calling all Pet Parents! Do you and your pet love going out and meeting new people? Are they Calm* and Friendly*? If so, you and your fur baby could be the perfect fit for our In-home pet visits. A lot of our local senior’s do not have the means to own and/or take care of a pet. In-home pet visits are where you, take your pet, to them, giving our local seniors an opportunity to love and be loved by local pets. What a great idea!
Even introverts need a little hello from time to time. As a check-in volunteer, you will be making “rounds” to various residences (or just one) to help keep in touch with our local seniors, checking their well-being to see how they are doing. Visits will last up to 15 min. This position is flexible in both time or location (we will match you with someone who lives close to your place) and visits may vary in frequency and times upon request from seniors or volunteers. Please contact us to meet with us in person to talk about all the details.
A friendly smile can go a long way; home visits help seniors feel more connected with their communities as well as helping with social skills. As a volunteer, you would be helping by visiting seniors in their home. Activities include but are not limited to; having a cup of tea/coffee (in home or at coffee house) or helping with computer skills or watching T.V. or playing a game, going for a walk with them, (their pet may join if you are comfortable with that) This position is flexible in both time (am or pm) and location.
