Wild Wise Sooke is Seeking volunteers to join our group.
A love of nature and wildlife is the only "Skill" you will need to help you with the community program.
There are many things to do as a volunteer. Let's discuss where you see your self a a volunteer.
The Wild Wise Sooke Program stresses public education. We provide the strategies and support that enable people to prevent and cope with human-bear conflicts. In addition, we teach people about bear ecology and behaviour, and how bears figure into local public policy.
Bear Wise Community Coordinators lead bear-proofing efforts at the community level. They assist in identifying and resolving bear-related issues. If you have concerns or have questions regarding wildlife, these are the first people to call.
The focus of the Program is to motivate people to be responsible with bear attractants. Our Mission Statement is to reduce the number of human-bear conflicts in communities through education, innovation and cooperation.
