Please contribute your skills to this worthwhile charitable project! HPS provides musical instruments and instruction to kids and youth in the Sooke area. This includes a Strings program (violin, viola, and cello) for students in grades two and up, and a Drumline program (marching band-style drumming) for students in grades six and up. Students perform at community events throughout the year. Work as a team with a friendly board and dedicated teachers to provide this life-enriching musical experience to our youth. (No musical skills are required of the Treasurer!)
Responsibilities include:
Attend Board meetings once a month.
Maintain Society accounts (record revenue and expenses, issue checks).
Prepare financial reports for board meetings.
Develop an annual budget for the Society.
Monitor funds to ensure they are adequate to cover operational needs.
