Our club places most of its emphasis on youth in Sooke's localcommunity, though we are also active citizens in the world community.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is an international lay organization, founded in Paris in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam and his friends. A Catholic Society, it is open to all those who desire to live their faith in love and service of their neighbour.
The Sooke Garden Club was established in 1971 as a means for residents of the Sooke Region to come together to share experiences, learn from experts, and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits to be derived from a common interest in gardening and horticulture. In turn, the Club contributes to the community through monetary donations, gardening-related volunteer work/support, and committee participation.
The Sooke Food Bank Society provides one hamper per month to those in need. The Food Bank is open the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Thursdays of each month from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Please bring your & your dependents' Care Cards and proof of residence with you (i.e. utility bill, drivers license, etc.). With roots dating back more than 65 years in the community, the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce is considered a vital resource and advocate for Sooke's business community.
Having one of the strongest membership bases per capita in British Columbia, the Chamber operates as a not-for-profit organization and is led by a dedicated group of volunteer Board of Directors representing various business sectors in the Sooke region.
