The Juan de Fuca Salmon Restoration Society was formed as a result of a symposium on salmon organized by the Sooke Region Historical Society in September 2002 which was held at Edward Milne Community School. Many presenters from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds of experience made contributions to the two-day program, titled SALMON: PAST–PRESENT-FUTURE.
We are continuing to work with the T'Sou-ke Nation and the Capital Regional District Regarding our mutual interest to acquire land in the Muir Creek watershed. We also evaluate new properties, as they become available, for their suitability for parkland.
Sooke Family Resource Society is dedicated to caring for families and individuals of all ages primarily in the Sooke Region and Westshore communities by providing services in parenting support, child, youth and family development, as well as mental health and addictions.
