The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) provides a range of programs and services to address the unique needs of military members and their families. We offer some programs in the Sooke Region directly.
Island Swim Club operates programs for swimmers of all ages in the Greater Victoria Area. We believe in the potential of all athletes and promote swimming as a long-term development and life long skill. Island Swim Club continues to be top producers of Provincial, National and International level athletes. We are proud of our commitment to excellence and welcome you to try our exciting program. We are a non-profit age group swimming organization operating out of 3 pools: Colwood - West Shore Recreation Centre; Saanich - Saanich Commonwealth Place; Esquimalt - Naden Athletic Centre
Our Club accepted the "Lioness Bridging Program" offered by Lions International and "bridged" our "Lioness Club" (formerly Sooke Lioness Club) in September 2003 which became our official charter date. There were 25 original members of the newly formed Sooke Lioness Lions Club. On July 1, 2010 we re-named our club to the Sooke Harbourside Lions Club.
In 2011, 41 members are very active in the Sooke community, but work closely with Lions and Lioness Clubs in Multiple District 19 (British Columbia, Washington, and Northern Idaho).
Horseshoes is an activity for all ages from youth to seniors. You can play just for fun or join an organized leqgue and play for competitive events. We will provide free lessons for anyone who wishes to learn the art of pitching horsehoes. Please check out our new website!
Our clubs from across Canada are excited as they prepare to welcome and serve learn to skate clientele from every walk of life, age and every interest level. All clubs will be ready to go as of September 1, 2014. We are pleased to note that we have some early adopters who are up and running now.
