SRVC is looking for volunteers to provide clerical services in the office located at 6672 Wadams Way. Some tasks include: scheduling appointments, maintaining database, type and edit correspondence, answering questions regarding volunteer program and community resources, and greeting and assisting walk-ins. It is a lovely way to discover all the wonderful happenings in our community and to learn about resources.
Victoria Literacy Connection is expanding to Sooke Region to provide free tutoring for children, youth and adults. They are looking for students and tutors. This is a literacy program serving children AND adults.
Sooke fall fair is looking for a number of volunteers who wish to assist at any of their variety of programs. They serve breakfast and lunch at Seedy Sat in February,July's car show, a market the last sat in August and September, and their main event the Sooke fall fair first Saturday after labour day, as well as the Christmas craft fair in November.
The Sooke Fall Fair is in need of someone to take on the position of Section Head for the kitchen craft section of the annual fair. Duties include: providing information for catalogue changes, attending monthly meetings and taking part in keeping the fair a success in the kitchen section. Kitchen area includes: baking, canning home crafts etc.
Sooke Loan Cupboard requires one or two reliable individuals that can assist Monday mornings between aprox 10:45 - 11:45 with cleaning equipment loaned through their program. Even if you can commit once or twice a month would be great.
Ayre Manor is a campus of care owned & operated by a local non-profit society- SECHS (Sooke Elderly Citizens' Housing Society). We are looking for members to serve on our board for a 3 yr term. Attend meetings once a month, and AGM is held each year in September.
Do you enjoy driving? Want to help in your community? We are looking for volunteer drivers with reliable vehicles to provide medical transportation services. Key Responsibilities: • Drive people in need from their home to their medical appointment in Sooke, Colwood, Langford or Victoria. • Provide door-to-door transportation to appointment and back. • Keep accurate records and submit required reports. • Contact the program staff with any health or other concerns about the client • Schedules are flexible; Shifts occur between Mondays and Fridays. Mileage will be reimbursed.
