Ayre Manor is a campus of care owned & operated by a local non-profit society- SECHS (Sooke Elderly Citizens' Housing Society). We are looking for members to serve on our board for a 3 yr term. Attend meetings once a month, and AGM is held each year in September.
Do you enjoy driving? Want to help in your community? We are looking for volunteer drivers with reliable vehicles to provide medical transportation services. Key Responsibilities: • Drive people in need from their home to their medical appointment in Sooke, Colwood, Langford or Victoria. • Provide door-to-door transportation to appointment and back. • Keep accurate records and submit required reports. • Contact the program staff with any health or other concerns about the client • Schedules are flexible; Shifts occur between Mondays and Fridays. Mileage will be reimbursed.
We are currently looking for committed, energetic Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be resposible to establish and maintain working relationships, conducts needs assessments, coordinates and evaluates volunteer programs. We will be asking our Volunteer coordinator to recruit and train volunteers. Acts as a resource for staff who interact with volunteers and ensures compliance with organizational policies relevant to volunteers.
The Assistant Coordinator would assist with various aspects of organizing monthly film night events. Awareness Film night runs on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for 9 months of the year. Tasks could include assisting with webpage, manage twitter account and generally assisting at the film night events. Ideally you would also be able to help with writing press releases, finding and contacting potential speakers and generally learning how to organize and present the film night if needed.
HOW CAN I BECOME A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER? "Have you ever thought - If I don't volunteer, who will?" Volunteer firefighter applications are available online, at Fire Station #1, 2225 Otter Point Road, or by contacting Assistant Chief Matt Barney, Training Officer at 250-642-5422. Volunteer firefighter applications are accepted year round. Training sessions for new recruit firefighters commonly begin each September at Fire Station #1. When basic training is completed, successful applicants will be issued a pager and can begin attending emergency calls.
