As Juan de Fuca regional residents we share this in common:
We are gravely troubled by the staggering rate and volume of deforestation in our region. We believe that our forests are being grossly mismanaged, and that these lands which should represent our commons have been unjustly expropriated in the name of fast profit for industry shareholders, at the expense of ecological sustainability and what is literally the birthright ground for future generations.
Our vision is two-fold:
Every day in British Columbia and the Yukon about 67 people are diagnosed with cancer and about 27 people will die. But there is also good news. BC has the lowest incidence of cancer and cancer deaths largely due to prevention strategies and excellent cancer care.
The Canadian Cancer Society is committed to eradicating cancer and improving the lives of people with cancer.

Today people are living longer, are healthier and as a result, raises many interesting questions on how to compose their lives during this stage of their life.

Our mandate is to encourage participation and excellence in the arts, culture and heritage for local youth from all religious, cultural and economic backgrounds as well as all levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
