The Juan de Fuca Community Trails Society is a coalition of hikers, cyclists and equestrians working to:

promote and create a legacy of community trails for walkers, cyclists and equestrians in the Juan de Fuca area;

encourage appreciation and respect for our natural features and environment through community trails opportunities.

educate and provide information to our members and other interested parties about the natural environment and sustainable trails.

B.C. Pensioners' and Seniors' Organization (BCPSO) Branch #88’s is a seniors advocacy organization. Meetings held in the Sooke Senior Drop-in Centre in the Dining Room of the Sooke Community Hall. Meetings are open to all residents of Sooke. No meetings July and August.

B.C. Pensioners' and Seniors' Organization is a non-partisan organization instituted in 1932 for the purpose if identifying and supporting issues of importance to seniors.

Our organizations purpose is concerned with all aspects of the lives of seniors.  Some specific concerns are:

The Sooke Transition House Society (STHS) provides emergency shelter for women and their children who are in crisis resulting from family violence. STHS provides additional services and programming, in partnership with other organizations, in an understanding and compassionate manner, to care for the emotional needs of women and children who experience or bear witness to abuse, or are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence.

Provides basic medical equipment on a maximum 2 month loan for a nominal fee.

They also provide transportation to medical appointment in Sooke and to the greater Victoria area. Area served is Kemp Lake to Connie Rd.

The Seniors Activity Society owns and operates a bus for the purpose of supporting its members with transportation challenges. The activity bus will pick up people at their homes and take them to various locations so they can socialize and get out of the house. Maintaining social contacts has been identified as a key component to healthy aging.

The Sooke Bike Club is dedicated to building a friendly and organized local mountain bike community in Sooke. We do this by supporting and encouraging riders of all ages and abilities through fun events, mentorship and volunteer opportunities. The Sooke Bike Club assists land managers and owners in their efforts to include bike trail systems on their lands, and promotes Sooke's trails and opportunities to the global mountain biking community.
